Love Music Hate Racism uses the positive energy of the Medway music scene to fight back against racism
Love DJs Hate Racism video - 2011
Most of last years Love DJs day was too loud to capture on the camera, but the footage gives a feel for the positive energy on the day.
LoveMusicHateRacism - Medway festival 2011 at the Command House
Our award winning volunteer team and supporters pulled off another successful 3 day festival, between 28th and 30th May 2011.
We will start to load photos and video taken over the '3 days in May' on this site over the next few days.
Positive comments and images are all over social networking sites. There's a Facebook link at the bottom of this page. We also received positive coverage in local and national press.
To all our supporters, if your logo is not on the supporters page, email it over. We are immensely grateful for your generosity to keep this thing going. The biggest challenge every year is finding several thousand pounds, discounts and freebies from local business and organisations.
Thanks to the acts and stall holders, speakers and other attractions, the RAFA club and Command House staff. We are composing a proper write up of the event and making sure we represent everything properly. If you notice any errors, please email them in.
This year the team worked harder than ever though a barrage of problems and red tape leading up to and during the events. We are all volunteers and have little professional experience in running events, but it wouldn't be as much fun if we were paid professionals.
Unfortunately we are a team member down this year as Bob Wade sadly passed away. He was a vital component to help things run smoothly and we miss him greatly. We ran into a few problems this year purely due to Bob not being here, using his experience and energy. He left a big hole which we will find hard to fill.
It has to be said that the Manager of the Medway Council Events Team assisted by providing solutions when we hit a few legal 'barriers'.
